Outhouse Race Rules General Participation

● All participants must sign a liability waiver.
● Participants must be 14 years of age or older. ○ Minors must have a parent/guardian sign the waiver.
● Teams consist of 3 people: ○ 1 rider, ○ 2 pushers.

Safety & Equipment
● Riders must wear helmets.
● Outhouse must have two securely fastened hand holds for the rider.
● No ice cleats or snow shoes—normal footwear only.

Outhouse Construction Rules
1. Must have a seat with a hole cut out.
2. Structure must have 3 sides, a roof, and a floor. ○ Rider must face the open side (any direction).
3. Materials must be solid: ○ Acceptable: Wood, metal, hard plastics ○ Not allowed: Cardboard, soft plastics like tarps etc, chicken wire, tarps, or similar.
4. All components must be securely fastened.
5. No windows or doors—only cutouts allowed.
6. Bottom must be a ski or sled design. ○ No wheels, sails, or motors. ○ Must be human-powered only.
7. Rider must stay seated during the entire race and may not help push.
8. Push bars must be securely attached; if wood, must be minimum 2"x4".
9. Minimum size: ○ 3 ft wide, ○ 4 ft deep, ○ 6 ft tall.
10. Must include a functioning toilet paper roll with holder.
11. Speakers allowed, but no explicit lyrics.

Race Format
● Timed heats.
● Length and number of heats determined by weather and ground conditions.

Disqualification Rules
● If any component of the outhouse becomes dislodged during the race in a way that violates construction rules, the team: ○ Will be disqualified from winning the Fastest Time prize only. ○ Still eligible for other categories.

Themes & Sponsors
● Outhouses must be decorated with the sponsor name and/or team theme. ○ All themes and decorations must be family-friendly. ○ No explicit or offensive content. ● Costumes are strongly encouraged.
● Sponsors: ○ Cover their portion of the registration fee. ○ Should also cover most costs for construction and costumes.

Prize Categories 1. Fastest Time ○ Winning sled displayed with "Winner" sign on Main Street or at Sponsor's location. 2. Best Theme 3. Crowd Favorit
